About Gear Pumps
Two meshing gears trap liquid between their teeth and the casing and carry it from inlet to outlet. Each turn moves a fixed volume, so flow stays steady even as the discharge pressure changes.
Gear pumps work best with clean, lubricating liquids. For thin or abrasive fluids, or very high flows, a centrifugal or screw pump is usually the better choice, and we will tell you which.
